Genie

Genie Industries was founded in 1966 when Bud Bushnell bought the manufacturing rights to a compressed air crane. Customers seemed to like the “magic in the bottle” which was used to raise and lower the crane – the name “Genie” was born. With the increasing demand for material hoists and aerial work platforms, products such as hand winches, booms, articulated booms, light towers, and tele-handling have been added to the Genie® production line.

By the early 2000s, due to the economic crisis, the company had decided to search for a partner with the same values. Terex Corporation, which has a history of acquiring equipment manufacturers worldwide, has proven to be a good match for business people. In 2002 Genie Industries sold into Terex Aerial Works (AWP) category at Terex. Due to its strength and reputation in the market, all Genie machines are still sold worldwide under the Genie brand.

“From the start, Genie has been developing products that solve the challenges of our customers’ job sites – and this process never ends,” says Matt Fearon, Genie President, Terex AWP. “Our team of product managers and engineers use customer input to design new products that feature the latest technology to meet changing needs. We manufacture our products according to strict standards that help increase quality, reduce costs and provide a high rental return on invested capital (rROIC). ”

Terex® AL ™ and RL ™ lighting towers are designed to fit virtually any lighting needs – from construction sites and sporting events to mining and oilfield applications. Terex Light Towers include a variety of features and options to help optimize the productivity of each unit to suit your specific job site needs. Terex Light Towers are sold and maintained by Terex Aerial Works, the same Terex category that sells and supports Genie® commercial products.
