High Japanese technology interest Furukawa Rock Drill (FRD) has its roots in the development of mining equipment. It is part of the Furukawa multinational group of companies whose main activities are to manufacture and sell engineering machinery, electronic materials and chemicals. The basic concepts on which the company is built are innovation, creativity and harmony.
The history of Furukawa Co., Ltd. To 1875 when the founder of Ichibei Furukawa started operating a copper mine, and since then, we have progressed with the modernization of Japan. At Furukawa Co., Ltd. By applying the cultivated techniques through the maintenance of imported rock drills, we developed the first local manual rock drills in 1914. This was the start of our rock drilling work.
In Takasaki’s business, large quantities of rock drills were produced and we established the site of the leading company in the field of rock drilling in the 1950’s. In the late fifties, the demand for coal decreased greatly due to the energy revolution and the main energy source began to switch from coal to coal. oil. Meanwhile, we started focusing on the fields of machinery cultivation and electronic materials. Ownership products such as rock drills and pumps developed with mining techniques accumulated over the years have been a huge advantage to us.
In 1998, we established a sales company for Rock Drill Products, Furukawa Rock Drill Europe B.V. In the Netherlands. This is a subsidiary of the Construction and Mining Machinery established in Utrecht, the Netherlands, which distributes rock drills and other products.
In 2005, we dismantled the companies and adopted a group management system, and we started as a Furukawa Group company. This made it possible for us to make decisions more quickly and based on the characteristics of each business, to conduct rapid management. Through this endeavor, we make efforts to increase the corporate value of the entire group.
